What people are saying about Palace of Versailles

A good guide on the coach and the Palace is amazing

Enjoyed the trip and certainly queues for us were reasonably short, even though it was a busy Sunday The gardens were a disappointment as there were no sign posts, no stewards to ask and no seating. The map we were issued with did not seem to relate to what we could see and didn't indicate where we were. We only came across the train after it was too late to join the queue to take it. We were let down badly on the return journey as the coach did not return us to our starting point as promised in your e-mail of 13th May. They finished at the Opera and refused to carry on. We walked a good distance to find a taxi with no luck and back at the Opera Metro the entrance to the line we wanted was closed and we had to walk some distance to the other entrance. it was very hot and we are both in our 80s and were extremely tired. Our tickets cost 7.50 Euro. Most of the above not your fault except for the let down at the end

Ticket wasn’t worth it but the place itself is fantastic

The line of people with tickets was roughly x4 the size of the no ticket line. We got there around 9:15 but didn’t get in until about 10:50. There’s only one security screening which was ridiculous considering the amount of people coming in. We went on a Saturday so maybe we just got unlucky but if I was to do it again, I think I’d buy the ticket there or get there at 8:15/8:30 for 9:00 opening. The palace itself was incredible but they let fair too many people in so it does ruin the atmosphere and makes it extremely hard to stop and enjoy. Would recommend hiring a golf cart but get in the line early

My 12 year old daughter's favorite thing we did while visiting France!

It was nice to comfortably travel via bus out to Versailles and skip the lines right into the Palace. It was a nice mix of audio tour and unguided discovery. I would recommend the full day so that you have enough time to visit everything - The Palace, Estate of Trianon and the The Garden. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

The Palace of Versailles was beautiful. A 2 hour wait in line wasn't.

Due to the fact it was raining very hard and windy, the wait in line was almost 2 hours. Nothing was being done to expedite the wait. When we finally entered and presented our ticket, there was only person working. Other than that the palace was beautiful! We didn't get to go to the gardens because of the weather.

Skip the line doesn't mean that you don't spend a lot of time waiting.

The palace was opulent and impressive, but extremely crowded. We waited for our time to enter (about 20-25 minutes), then the movement inside was very slow. Across the street are several outdoor cafes for lunch. I am glad I went, but I would never go again.
