We were picked up from our hotel (Mercure). The coach was quite comfy. The commentary was quite slow but informative too. There were a good number of stops for some gorgeous photos. The refreshment stop was quite cool and there were decent vegetarian options and there were friendly alpacas around too. The cruise was pretty straightforward and we spent most of the time on the deck. The commentary on the cruise is not as audible on the deck but the views are spectacular (we had sunny weather all through - saw a few juvenile seals lazing around on the rocks, no dolphins though). There are some basic meals available on board for vegetarians but you can't pay by cards that don't have details embossed (I paid later at the counter). They offer an optional helicopter or plane ride back to Queenstown provided weather is good. Perfect all round for romance and photography since the entire journey is quite breathtaking

We had an excellent guided tour to Milford Sound. Our driver/guide, Carl, was an experienced driver and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. He made many scenic stops for photo ops. His exuberant and welcoming personality made the trip that much more fun. He included all his guest in the conversations, even referring to many by name, and made people feel special. The glass top coach was a plus, since you could view the mountain peaks along the way. Although the cruise was cut short due to the early closing of the Homer tunnel, the crew managed to include all the important sites. Great value tour! You will not be disappointed! Very glad I choose to fly to Milford Sound instead of doing the whole day bus trip. Very efficient operation from pick up to drop off. No waiting around. No over energetic annoying tourism staff trying to oversell the experience. Pilot was great, providing just the right amount of information without being distracting which allowed us to soak in the amazing landscape. Cruise was also great. Beautiful waterfalls, snow capped mountains and plenty of Dolphins and seals coming out to play.

I especially appreciated our guide Sam who was informed and entertaining throughout the trip. He is a safe and careful driver too, which really helped for those of us not used to driving on high mountain roads. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Queenstown, as it has been a high point of my trip here. Thanks again to our guide and driver Sam, who did an amazing job.

The coach trip was great. Very informative with great local knowledge (it was a shame half the coach was asleep and therefore missed it) we felt safe and comfortable. Amazing views. Definitely worth the trip. The cruise around Milford sound was amazing too. We chose to fly back at the last minute. Topped off the best day ever. Would definitely recommend the flight back.
