What people are saying about Odessa
Our two person’s private guided 5 hours Odessa tour by Yuriy Bocharev. Guided by excellent English and bilingually in Russian to my Ukrainian friend. He had an excellent knowledge of Odessa’s history from ancient times until today. I guess that we had a comprehensive walking tour through all-important places in the Centre of Odessa. He knows very well history of buildings, monuments and statues. He had bunch of some posters with him, which helped lot of understanding of changes made over the centuries. It was also very car tour through of suburban area to a spa and recreational facilities of the Black Sea shore. I would like to give an extra bonus for Yuriy, because he had a high quality camera with him. He was also very professional photographer, which gave us very nice freedom just to enjoy looking sightseeing. As a couple, my friend and I have now an excellent collection of lovely photos. Our warmest thanks to Yuriev from his effort by sending photos, and memorable tour guidance
After two busy days seeing all the historic sites above and below ground in Odessa this was a lovely way to spend our final morning. Our guide Natalya took us to numerous hidden courtyards and gave us a real feel for what this beautiful city was like to live in from the perspective of its residents. Natalya was incredibly knowledgeable on all aspects of the history and life of the city and extremely patient in answering our many questions. She was happy to show us a couple of additional buildings we were curious about and even helped us organise a trip to the opera. Many thanks!
Everyone should see this site. The tour guide makes it very easy. We were met pier side by the guide at the appointed hour. He drove us there and explained the history of Yalta along the way. At the destination, he led us through the tunnels, explained the significance of each display, told us some anecdotal stories of the partisans, and then guided us through the resistance museum. It was very informative and interesting. The guide brought us back to the ship.
With only a few days to spend in Odessa on this trip, the private guided half-day tour was a perfect way to see and learn as much as possible in a short amount of time. Four hours is plenty of time to see central Odessa and get a solid introduction to the town and its history. The guide is catered to your own interests, and so there's flexibility to what you see and do. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get a taste of the city and its history.
Four of us took the tour of the Catacombs with Yuri. He met us promptly at the ship terminal and on the way to the Catacombs he pointed out many interesting parts of the city . His knowledge of the Catacombs was extraordinary . On the way back to the ship he took us to the monument of the Sailors lost at sea. We enjoyed his tour and highly recommend it.
