A must for anyone interested in the Japanese food culture

Our walking tour guide - Yumiko had a great personality and made the the tour a lot of fun. Her explanation of the produce on display and the history of the market was terrific. Buying the ingredients for the cooking class using some basic Japanese phrases was an enjoyable challenge. It is unlikely i will ever forget the Japanese word for Tofu Skin! The sake museum and tasting added to the market experience. The cooking Instructor - Machiko - took the experience to another level. Using simple ingredients we were able to learn how to put together a substantial meal. So substantial that we walked back to our hotel in an effort to walk it off . In summary - a great experience :-)

An easy introduction to major Kyoto tourist sites

The tour provided a good introduction to several major tourist sites in Kyoto without the hassle of public transport - we bought a single day ticket and took in the sights at Nijo castle gardens, Nishiki market, the Golden Pavilion and Kyomizu Dera - all easily accessible from the bus stops with helpful guides - before leaving the tour to use public transport to find the Fushimi Inari shrine. It was much appreciated that we were given plastic fans (of course with added advertising) and ice packs to keep us cool in the 37 degree temperatures.

Excellent private tour of Kyoto with Akiko

We had a really good tour with Akiko in Kyoto. Akiko had very good english and was very friendly. She took us to the main highlights of Kyoto and was very informative. The pace of the tour was also very good as we did not want to be rushed. We really liked the walk through Gion district and the visit to the Golden Palace. We would hghily recommend a private tour with Akiko to get a good sense of Kyoto at the beginning of your stay.

Excellent Night Tour with a good coverage of the Area.

Enjoyed seeing the night view of the Gion District, the Yasaka Pagoda and seeing the night life area of Kiyamachi. Julian gave us a good insight into various aspects of the Geisha Lifestyle and also about the surrounding areas including some nice snacks and Dinner. It was a pretty good experience .

Our guide Ellie made our day a very enjoyable one.

Ellie was knowledgeable, informative, helpful, courteous and it was a pleasure to spend the day with her. She went at the right pace for us and introduced us to a new Japanese food and showed us how to use the buses. It could not have been a more lovely day.
