Full description
Drift slowly past 2,000 years of Louisiana history on this boat tour. Your captain is a native of the Barataria Swamps with a background in alligator hunting, fishing and trapping. He will tell you all about the ecology of the swampland. You'll also learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Cajuns of the Bayou and see plenty of wildlife, including birds, snakes, turtles and alligators. The boat passes calmly through beautiful, moss-draped trees and soft waterways for ample opportunities to take pictures. Enjoy an entertaining, educational and exciting tour with a relaxing view of this unique landscape. Note that in the winter, gators mostly hibernate, except to soak up some sun on warmer days, but your local tour can sometimes spot a sunbathing gator for you on the tour.

We went on this swamp tour and it was excellent. The guide was hilarious and told us about the town and the swamp we were touring. Some people were asking about seeing gators and he said this was a swamp tour, but if we look we were sure to find some gators. There was plenty of jokes, info, and gators in the swamp on this tour (along with a baby gator he brought out for us to hold just in case there was none in the swamp) I highly recommend this tour, it was a lot of fun!

Tour was excellent from start to finish we got picked up from our hotel and driven straight to the swamps for our tour the bus driver was very friendly. Once on the boat the tour guide was very helpful and answered all our questions and was really good at explaining all about the swamps bayou etc would highly recommend.

Regards was a great Captain with plenty of knowledge and stories.

Personally I chose to take the slow boat, this was much better than the exceptionally noisy fast boat, in addition the Captain could narrate on the history of the Swamp and provide detailed information. Don’t expect to see 12 foot Aligators though. We saw 4 and the largest was about 3 ft long.
