Full description
Start with pickup from your hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Meet your guide who will escort you by private transport throughout the day. Travel to the first stop on the tour, the Winter Olympic Ski Stadium that was constructed in 1936. Visit the Historic Ludwig Strasse in Partenkirchen, part of the Via Raetia, which was built by the Celts over 2000 years ago.

Continue towards Ettal Monastery, constructed in 1330 by the Holy Roman Emperor of the time. Next visit the village of Oberammergau, world-famous for its Passion Plays, or Easter pagenat, showing the life and suffering of Jesus Christ. Oberammergau is also known for its wood carvings, which you can purchase. Travel along the old road to see Linderhof Palace in the Graswang Valley.

Drive through the majestic Ammergau mountain range and discover the highlight of the day, Neuschwanstein Castle. Known as the jewel in the crown of King Ludwig the II, this castle is one of the most popular destinations in all of Germany. Built in a Romanesque Revival style, the palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and in honour of famed composer, Richard Wagner.

Following some time to explore the castle travel through Ehrwald to see the Zugspitze mountain, before returning to your hotel.
