Fantastic experience. So well laid out and we did the guided tour and our guide Katie was fantastic :) I’ve just deducted a star for two reasons.. firstly the car park.. we queued for 20 minutes only to be told at the top of the queue that we had to have an online booking or national trust membership to park as it was so busy. Perhaps there was a sign at the bottom to the queue but we didn’t see it.. we had plenty of time to have booked online on the way up the queue and could have done that which would have made the whole experience smoother. Secondly.. the cafe is great at recycling .. but they printed out tickets for us after we booked online.. what happened to saving the trees by booking online? The tickets were also kind of glossed card so don’t know how recyclable they are . Pity as they are very conscious of the environment and recycling in lots of other parts of the exhibit. Would highly recommend it anyway! And take the tour . So much more info!

I was there about 8 years ago, it was naturally homey. At the moment it is a large commercial-oriented enterprise. So what if you buy a ticket on the internet and still stand in a queue for a paper ticket on the spot. The only positive change are the audio devices, although reading information on the internet is more and more interesting.
