What people are saying about Naples

An easy alternative to Pompeii. Get the picture without the crowds.

Chose Herculaneum on advise as my partner has mobility and breathing difficulties. Bought Fast track tickets to avoid queues at entrance.... but not required when we got there about noon. Easy to reach from Sorrento by public train €5.80 return followed by a short downhill walk to the site. Entrance through pleasant visitors centre with toilets. Gentle downhill path provides good views and photo opps. The actual excavations are fairly compact and hired audio guides seemed very popular (€8 each/€13 for 2). Clearly not an easy walk for anyone with more than very minor mobility issues but it's not a seafront promenade. Whilst not the scale or variety of its big brother, Pompeii, no crowds. Refreshments are available by auto vending machines along with more toilets close to excavations. Overall well worth the visit to get the experience... nice views across to Vesuvius... which makes you think... what if?? We got a taxi back up the hill to station €10, overpriced... yes, but essential...

Great trip in spite of weather and road closure on 6 May.

Our driver, Vincenzo Esposito, was very entertaining throughout our trip. He gave us a lot of history and described the local scenery and things going on between Napoli and Positano, of which he is very knowledgable. The main road was closed causing major delays with traffic but our driver/guide made the trip very interesting and comfortable. Thanks Vincenzo

the place is amazing, the audio guide is average

The place is incredible, so much history ... a must do activity. The audio guide is average. Too many locations were not available, despite the number been displayed. Others were closed, which my understanding is because of security or lack of personnel. Either way, at least listening to part of the history and learning from the place was worth it

Excellent overall, Francesco our driver was kind and knowledgeable!

I would recommended this service anytime you visit Italy. Our driver, Francesco, was excellent! He was kind, very knowledgeable, and made sure our transfer went smoothly. We were picked up at the end of the train station platform, and taken right up to the door of our Airbnb in Positano. We would definitely use this service again.

Fast track took a while to enter Pompeii

I booked a tour with another company who brought me to Pompeii...they didn't have fast track and got through the gate faster than I did, guess it depends on when you go. The weather was dreadful with torrential rain which didn't help the trip but it was still very interesting to see.
