Full description
With this guided tour, walk the underground streets surrounded by 17th century tombs of the Neapolitan nobles. The Catacombs were enlarged following the burial of the North African bishop, here between 451 and 453 AD.

The Catacomb of San Gaudioso is the second largest in Naples, and in it coexist Paleochristian and 17th century elements. On the one hand, see the intensity of the early Christian elements, such as the tomb of San Gaudioso, the frescoes and mosaics of the 5th-6th century; on the other, see the particular burial area reserved for nobles, dating back to the 17th century, when the catacombs resumed their function as a site sepulchre. In the seventeenth century, the site housed mainly burials reserved for aristocrats and ecclesiastics.

At the end of the guided tour, you can taste the essence of Neapolitan street food: eat the famous pizza a portofoglio in the heart of the city at a pizzeria in the historic center.
