What people are saying about Naples

Great 'must see' locations, more time would have been nice ...

Herculaneum is well worth a visit, the site is much smaller than Pompeii and although the allocated time is 2 hours, to do it justice 3 hours would be better. We didn't get 2 hours, because the bus was late and the skip the line queue was long! Suggest you hire an audio guide or buy a guidebook. There were no free 'English' leaflets on the day we visited which was a bit disappointing. Vesuvius is also well worth a visit, you need to be fit and able to walk uphill for about 30 minutes on loose volcanic stone, and you need good sturdy walking shoes. It provides for a good workout though, I certainly ached after the climb! Note this is not an organised tour. This tour uses the services of a local hop on bus service. The bus transfer from Herculaneum to Vesuvius was packed and people had to stand. The bus was changed enroute, at the wine tasting stop, this was supposed to have been a 30 minute stop, but they only stopped for 15 minutes. No time to buy lunch.

Rossana was unbelievable we were lucky to experience her Pompeii !!

We used this company for all of our tours in Italy and they were terrific each time , Rossana was a favourite, she clearly described the feeling in the city prior, the thinking of the people at the time and connected the two with her beautiful Italian exuberance. Also Rossana gave generously of her time with the tour based on her commentary rather than a time limit. At the beginning of our tour our hostess was awaiting us with our name on a card for us to find her and then we received a phone call to make sure we were ok , I have already told a couple of people about get your guide !!

The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke good English

The guide was a little late arriving and then we had to wait for others who arrived late. Originally only 4 of us and then a family of 5 joined. We had about 2 hours however I would have liked more guidance in the forum but by then our tour had finished . We could stay and look around ourselves. Most other tires had a lot of people who looked hot and bored. I think we were lucky!

Extremely worthwhile and I recommend to first time visitors.

Magnificent guide [Lello], who brought the whole scene to life together with humour and extensive knowledge. Skipping the line was SO worthwhile and starting at 09.00 was a huge success - the place was almost deserted and then just got busier by the minute. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Really enjoyed the day. Pompeii was great as was Vesuvius

Really enjoyed the day. Pompeii was great as was Vesuvius & had a nice pizza for lunch as well. It’s really easy having someone who knows where to go, liaising with the guide at Pompeii & arranging pickup/drop of times. Well worth the cost.
