Our guide Mr.Lan Unicorn was a funny chap. Very informative and attentive to the guests' needs. The journey was smooth, the bus driver drove well and not recklessly and it even has wifi on board. Mr Lan shared unique stories about himself, his family and the brief history about Vietnam and its various ethnicity. Our first attraction was a lovely temple with delicious street delicacies offered by the vendors. Bee Farm and a cocoa processing place included. One thing to note: Mr.Lan did mention that tipping the boat rowers is not necessary but is welcomed and many of us voluntarily tipped. The short journey in the delta was very scenic and somewhat chaotic with many other sampans crisscrossing. I'd say lunch could have been better (deep-fried fish as main. Rice, egg and vegetables also) but it was satisfying. Not much to see when cycling in the neighbouring village but give it a go anyway. Boat journey to and from the island absolutely peaceful. Highly recommended! Thank you Mr.Lan!
This tour was really nice and enjoyable and this especially thanks to our tour guide Mei, who carefully explained us all the things we need to know about specificities of life in Mekong Delta. I could not expect better from what she presented and explained to us from the daily life of local people to its local economy spread between harvesting fruits and fishing. Discovering the different islands around the Delta was really nice as well as the encounter with the bees and Python (which you can hold if you want, both of them). Of course the food was really good but this is common to Vietnam as a whole! Still, I have to say that the local fruits tasting felt like paradise on earth, as well as the honey products they are locally producing! You'll also have a chance to buy local products to bring them back home to keep little part of Mekong Delta back with you. All in all I would say perfect, but if you want to be sure of it, do not forget to ask for Mei to be your tour guide too!!
The tour is very well organized. We visited a large temple complex and floated with a boat across the Mekong River, visited a bee farm and ate fruits among locals. A short ride in the horse-drawn carriage was also included ... I my opinion that was a bit too touristy, it was a bit of an attraction to the next at a gallop. ;) I especially liked the extra tour in the boat through the coconut mangroves of Ben Tre. That could have been a bit longer and we could have skipped the carriage ride and fruit eating. The lunch tasted, but in the restaurant it was very chaotic. However, our tour guide Sally always had a watchful eye, that we were well looked after. Sally was great. She did her job really well. A view words to Sally: On the way to the Mekong Delta, she gave us useful information about Vietnam, made fun and entertained the group. She did a great job! Thanks again to Sally. In conclusion, it is a touristic tour that was worthwhile and fun.
for the price of around $20, this tour was a bargain (though it's worth keeping a budget of $5+ for tips of various people along the way). Our guide Hang was great, really dead-pan funny and she did a great job explaining things and handling a group that was 50/50 domestic and international traveller. Great lunch. Would be a 5 star tour if they did some basic maintenance on the bikes - most were falling to pieces and I had to drop off the biking part and find my own way back to the base because the chain fell off and the seat post collapsed (and this happened to several people in our group...) the bikes are fine if they are looked after and I was a bit annoyed to miss out on the cycling part.
Mei was a fabulous guide , very informative and attentive. The trip was a pleasant surprise during our stay in Saigon . Great value for money , lots of things to see and do , lots of delicious things to eat and drink . There were 5 of us traveling together and it was one off our best days . Thanks also to Mr An for safely driving us around . I would highly recommend this trip.
