Skipping the line is absolutely worth the cost!

We booked our tickets with Get your Guide the day before our visit to the Vatican, and are so happy we did! We arrived at 9am and were astounded by the crowds of people with skip-the-line reservations or no tickets. The lines seemed to have no ends, but because of special partnerships between the Vatican museum and tour operators, we were able to enter as a group within 10 minutes of getting in line, including passing through security. In the heat of June, this was especially appreciated. The experience itself is unparalleled. It’s crowded and long, but unbelievable to see 2500 Etruscan artifacts, frescos by the greats Michaelangelo and Raphael, and learn about the church’s influence on culture for the last millennia. Highly recommend both the tour and this operator (as well as visiting St Peters Basilica—for free—afterwards and climbing up the dome for a fantastic view of all of Vatican City).

Very informative but sound cuts out in stairways and hallways

The tour was very informative and our guide spoke the entire time- also when going through stairways and hallways between the many rooms and as the connection was poor in those places we missed a lot of information every time we changed rooms. He spoke so much that it was hard to ask him to slow down or repeat things we had not heard. But we enjoyed the tour and would definitely do it again. I am not sure why we were told to be at the meeting point 25 minutes ahead of time - no one was waiting for us at that time and the whole group ending up waiting a few minutes after the start time for two people who were late.

Worth the skip the line and having someone that knows the ins and outs

If you are traveling in the summer getting a tour is worth it! If you are one that thinks you would prefer alone time to see and do this on your own...you still get that time with this tour! It's stress free, just show up and have a local guide get you through and explain some of the history and things you are looking out. Definitely a good value. The line in the summer can be hours long in the heat!

Mina was a fantastic guide - totally recommend him

We had Mina as our guide. He's friendly, passionate about the place and knowledgeable. I wished we could have spent more time with him get into the details, but 3 hours is a very short time to learn about thousands of years.

Very informative guide, though it was rather rushed.

Enjoyed the tour, though it was very busy. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we avoided a lot of queuing. One small negative was that we booked a tour for up to 25 people, but there were 35 in our group.
