Full description
In the seclusion of the mountains, King Ludwig II of Bavaria built 2 of his dream-castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof.

This trip from Munich in a luxury air-conditioned tour-bus will allow you to visit these two important examples of western architecture. Neuschwanstein Castle, in its stunning position in the foothills of the Alps, is also one of the most impressive sights in Germany. Here you will have around 4 hours to explore comfortably every fascinating detail.

Linderhof is the only castle that Ludwig the II managed to complete. Around noon you will take a rest at Hohenschwangau Castle, Ludwig's childhood home, for lunch (not included).

In addition, you will stop for a short time in Oberammergau, for the opportunity to photograph this picturesque little town and its environs, and to do a little shopping.

What a fantastic tour! The comfortable bus was waiting for us at the meeting spot. (Sit up top for the best views.) Our guide gave us great information as we passed sights & towns along the way. It was a perfect sunny day so the scenery was incredible. All stores in Oberammergau were closed because it was a Sunday, but we were able to walk the streets, see the gorgeous paintings on the houses & chat with locals who were sitting outside in the cafes. Once we got to Neuschwanstein we had lunch outside at Muller Cafe (amazing) before climbing up to the castle. It is VERY important that you heed to advice about the climb up! Only the carriage rides were running and the lines were very long. We walked up in about 25 min. It is taxing, even for those in good shape, but you will see a waterfall, among other pretty views. You cannot take pictures in the castle but it is a great tour. And to think only 30% was every finished!

Really enjoyed the tour. We saw many landscapes and the castles were amazing. It worth for sure! Remember you can drink a coffee at a really nice price outside Neuschwanstein castle and you get free a souvenir. Just go up there and enjoy. Also go inside the castle! It worths the view!

I almost didn't choose this trip due to the negative reviews I saw on TripAdvisor, but when I discussed this with my husband, he said that the negative reviews may not be completely the tour operator's fault. Sometimes it is bad luck or sometimes it is due to uncooperative tourists. I decided to trust my husband. Aren't I glad I did! We turned out to be very lucky and it was a very smooth trip. The meetup point was easy to find. The tour guide and the staff helping at the meet up point were very professional (They even let me safe-keep my big luggage on the bus). Everyone was very punctual (even the bus when it leaves). The Oberammergau was a quick trip but that was expected. Wish we could stay longer at Neuschwanstein but knowing about the winter hours we have no complaints. We are quite fit so the time it took for us to go to Marienbruck was shorter than advertised. The benefit for this trip is that because of the stops along the way, it is not boring to get to Neuschwanstein.
