What people are saying about Mumbai

Top tour, top guide: Dinesh.Great insight in 3rd biggest slum on earth

My friend and I had a wonderful experience with many highlights on the tour. Our guide Dinesh knew so much and grew up in the slum (as all Mystical Mumbai tour guides do). We walked through different parts such as the industrial (mostly recycling), residential and muslim part; the heart with tiny corridors (where shantharam lived), to a place where a scene of slumdog millionaire was filmed, through the market street and even to the home of the guide. The tour ended at the office of mystical Mumbai in a school building (what you can expect in a slum) where we were able to give feedback. All in all, we always felt safe, could always ask questions and were given instructions on when to take pictures and when not. The information given was very detailed and interesting. The guide and manager were very helpful in on the one hand helping to find nice curry and on the other help us call a uber and bring us to the pick up to go back to the hotel.

Good introduction to Indian street food generally

Nikesh is an engaging and knowledgeable guide, speaking good English, and his tour covered a wide cross-section of Mumbai. A challenge for us was that I had just had major surgery on my hip and was still partially on crutches. Although I'm pretty agile, we hadn't realised quite how much walking the tour involved. And Nick's natural inclination is to walk VERY quickly. He did his best to slow down but I suspect this was rather difficult for him! In the end, we sadly had to bail on the last couple of stops. Luckily my husband and I were the only two in the group so it didn't matter. In retrospect we would have preferred to have been introduced to more purely local dishes instead of the Keralan thali - Mumbai's famous vada pav, for instance, wasn't even included. But perhaps Nick had this planned as a surprise for the final stop?

Absolutely wonderful and totally safe (as a woman, travelling alone)

The female guide was very well informed about everything, her English was perfect and very understandable. We walked, went with different caps and had a ride with a train (women's section). So I experienced a lot of different parts of Mumbai, even a Fishing Village, Second hand Market, Lokal Market ... The guide (Sukanya) always asked in what I would be interested. It was definitely worth the money. I would always book it again. !! Thank you for the great experience.

Excellent tour- a must see when you visit Mumbai

The tour ran smoothly, we were picked up when expected. Loved the boat trip over to the island. Our guide was born and bred on the island so we really felt that we got the personal touch- nothing was too much trouble and we really felt we learnt something. The guide took some great photos as well! All in all an excellent half day tour. Well worth doing.

Fantastic but ridiculously expensive on this site

I had a great experience. Later on when the tour operator who organised this tour, linked me to their site...I found out that a day like this actually only costs €35 for 2 persons instead of €250 for two persons. This is a ridiculous difference! My advise, if you find the local guide I would say, go for that! Because what you pay here is too much.
