Visit the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is the site of a collection of temples dedicated to the Hindu God of Shiva. Upgrade your booking to include roundtrip ferry tickets to Elephanta island.  Discover the historical site got its name because it was found with elephant statues by colonial Portuguese soldiers.  After an hour-long ferry from Gateway of India, arrive Elephanta Island filled with carved rock masterpieces and sculptures depicting stories of Shiva.  Take an hour’s walk and climb 120 steps to the plateau, where you will show your ticket to enter the caves.  Each cave has a unique feature: one is a large Hindu cave, the other is a Buddhist cave, and the final one is a cave dedicated to the God Shiva with a massive three-headed Shiva sculpture.   • There will be about a 1 km walk from the island’s pier to the historic site. You can pay on-site to take a mini-train to avoid the walk
  • There are 120 steps to climb up to the caves
  • The ferry service to the Elephanta Caves is not operational during the Monsoon season (Mid June to Mid September) or during rainy days
  • The ferry tickets will be handed over to you in person on the day of the activity
  • When booking, you will be requested to provide the full name, age, and passport numbers for all participants. This information is needed to issue your tickets
