Full description
Known to many as "one of the largest slums in Asia", Dharavi is also known as Mumbai’s beating heart. It houses about one million of Mumbai’s inhabitants, and its industries have an annual turnover of approximately US$665 million. Not only is Dharavi home to much of the city’s economic activity, but it is also home to some of the best chefs!

A resident chef in Dharavi will lead the way for your memorable cooking experience. You can experience a different side of Dharavi, through the delectable cuisine made in a resident’s very own kitchen. You can learn about the spices used, source ingredients directly from the local market, and get hands-on with the food preparation and cooking.

Fresh vegetarian dishes such as dahl chawal (lentils and rice), and vegetable or paneer curries can be whipped up. Moreover, dishes made will depend on the produce that is in season. You can feel the communal energy of Dharavi household members, who pitch in to help and provide feedback throughout the cooking process.

At the end of your cooking experience, you’ll get to enjoy a vegetarian meal together as a family would. You can get comfortable and feast the local way, sitting on the floor and eating with your hands.
