After a briefing at the mobile information point, your excursion will start up to the top of Mt. Etna at 3,300m. Take the cable car to quickly gain altitude up to 2,500m and then with special 4x4 minibuses, go up to 2,900m, near Torre del Filosofo.

During the 2-hour ascent, take 2-3 intermediate breaks to enjoy the view. Travel through the lunar-looking lava fields that will lead you under the summit craters. We had booked the trip in advance, but welcomed their suggestion to delay by a day - boy, was it worth it! Sun shining, clear skies. The team arranged transfers, and managed to sort sharing it with other customers to reduce the cost (thanks). Our guide (Pepper) was great - provided us with walking poles and extra gloves. He went at a great place, offering lots of information and on hand for queries and questions.

Super activity, the effort was considerable and the effect was wow !!! In addition: total security !! We were accompanied by Max (Massimo), a totally passionate and attentive guide to each participant. He made us discover the massif in a sporty, educational and fun way! Really, if it is possible, I recommend this guide !! One downside however, I was accompanied by a 10 year old child speaking only in French, and for him I booked the excursion in French, but it was carried out in English. I was able to translate and Massimo's sympathy did the rest.

Although we couldn't go to the summit due to the volcano being too active, the tour was very impressive. We walked the way that you normally drive on the minibuses, across the extinct lava fields and then a little closer to the summit where you can no longer get there without a guide. In some places water vapor escapes and the floor is warm. Our guide Max was great and gave us a lot of exciting information and modified the tour perfectly, so that we would book it again at any time without reaching the summit.
