Full description
After a short briefing the excursion will begin. Travel by cable car to quickly gain height until and then special buses will take you near to the Torre del Filosofo (Tower of the Philosopher).

During the 2-hour ascent route, you will stop 2 or 3 times to enjoy the landscape. Walk through moonscape lava fields which will lead you to summit craters. With the last ascent trail, you will reach the top of Etna, where you can enjoy the peculiar summit area. You will walk for about 2 hours to reach the upper cable car station afterwards.

This excursion is aimed at moderately trained hikers, used to moving on sandy or detrital terrain, where there may not be paths and where the route can include exposed sections. The excursion is also possible for children aged ten and up. To avoid taking risks, it is a good idea to know your health condition well. At the discretion of the guide, the excursions may undergo variations or be interrupted if the weather conditions, environmental factors, or possible volcanic risk represent any source of danger. Furthermore, the guide is entitled to stop the excursion for any reason that could compromise the safety and therefore the physical integrity of an individual or of the entire group.

• Excursion for moderately trained hikers
• The excursion is also possible for children aged ten and up
• To avoid any risks you should be in good health and inform your guide before the hike of any medical issues that may be impacted by the change in elevation throughout the hike
• The guide is entitled to stop the excursion for any reason that could compromise the safety and therefore the physical integrity of an individual or of the entire group
• Necessary gear: trekking boots with high socks, trekking poles, rock helmet (free rental), extra t-shirt, light jacket, backpack (10-20L), water, snack and packed lunch
• It is recommended you wear long pants, and bring gloves, a hat, sunglasses, and sun proctection
