What people are saying about Moulin Rouge
The ground crew and tour guide were outstanding and the coach captain went above and beyond. Had a great night thanks! Only disappointing let-down was the "1/2 bottle" that was included in the package for each person which turned out to be only 1 glass. When raising this with the 1st attendant about 1/2 way through the show we were advised that he would get some for us only to never see him again. When raising this with the 2nd waiter he indicated that the show was almost over. When pushing the issue further indicating the package inclusion he raised a manager who to add insult to injury tried to tell us that the 1/2 bottle was poured into the glass at the beginning of the show - this was clearly a lie. For what could have only been 1 glass of champagne on 1st request, the service, or lack there of, did somewhat mar the evening which outside of this experience would have been an absolutely perfect evening. Please pass my extreme disappointed on to the Moulin Rouge management. Thanks
Nice cruise, but before we left the meeting point, my husband was told his clothing wouldn't be appropriate, nice shorts and shirt. No time to go back to hotel, so the girl made us "run" to a little shop she knew, & we were made to purchase $150.00 pair of pants, or forfeit the evening. After the cruise,(which was great but would have been better in the dark), we went to Moulin Rouge, where clothing of all kinds was seen, including jean shorts, t-shirts, sandals etc.. This was evidently a little scam, to get a kick back on a pair of pants. Show was spectacular, acrobatics, comedy, great costumes, men will love it, not appropriate for children, unless they are used to seeing topless women! All in all, a fun evening, beautiful leisurely cruise, excellent, picturesque views, and a great variety show at Moulin Rouge, well worth the money, (accept for the pants).
There were really two parts to the tour, the river cruise and the Moulin Rouge. The Moulin Rouge part was excellent and one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. The shuttle service was top notch and our driver arrived at our hotel several minutes early. The river cruise, while nice, could have been better. The cruise company contracted uses covered boats so as a result you couldn't look up to see Paris at night. The roofs were glass, but covered with a mesh to prevent tourists during the day from getting sunburned. You could see out the sides fine, but it did detract from the experience...especially since we could see that EVERY OTHER SHIP on the river was either open top or had an upper level that people could stand on and look around freely.
The staff at GetYourGuide were very helpful and the drivers did their best to book for an additional person with our group the last minute. They did a miraculous job securing the ride, the boat cruise, and a seat at Moulin Rouge. The boat cruise was great, the weather was chilly (mid April) and a pretty clear sky. Then night view of Paris is amazing. The boat was a bit crowded though and didn't find a place to sit at the desk right away. The Moulin rouge show is so colorful and the customes and the dancing were great. The waiting queue was a bit annoying, standing on our feet after we had a long day of walking around in Paris was a bit exhaustive.
Dinner was at a lovely pace. Great food and great service, One minor complaint - the plate with my main course was barely warm so my food was cold half way through. The Eiffel Tower trip was very well organised. The most awesome views from the 2nd level and even better at the very top. Better / less confusing signage required on the ET itself for locations of lifts and stairs. Many people were late returning to the coach, but the staff retained their friendliness. Conditions inside the MR are a little cramped, but the show is amazing. Great excursion!
