Full description
Your experience begins in the upper part of Passeig de Gràcia, before journeying to experience the natural splendor of Montserrat, Catalonia’s most emblematic mountain which is topped by a Benedictine Monastery. Montserrat is an ideal trip to spend a fun day in nature, just a few kilometers away from Barcelona.

Board the Aeri Cable Car to observe the area’s fascinating flora and fauna. On the way to the Monastery, you can admire the Massif of Montserrat, a spectacular multi-peaked rocky range packed with unique needle-shaped formations. Upon arrival, you can visit the Monastery, which was founded in the 10th century and still functions with 150 monks to this day. It is also well-known for hosting the figure of La Moreneta (the dark one), who is the patron saint of Catalonia — visit subject to current wait times. Your guide will bring history alive by explaining the history and ventures of this Monastery, which dates back nearly a thousand years. After the visit, you will have free time to buy a souvenir and take pictures.

A bus will then take you to a farmhouse where you will enjoy a delicious 3-course menu; consisting of salad, barbecued food (with vegetarian and halal options), and dessert, all whilst surrounded with stunning views. Following this day full of adventures, you will return to the center of Barcelona by private transport.

This part of the Barcelona experience is a must go! The sight seeing was beautiful, and the church was jaw-dropping. The farmhouse lunch was the one of the best meals we had in Barcelona, and the wine was delicious. Make sure to explore the farm a bit in the free time! Our guide Ariana was fantastic and very knowledgeable, would highly recommend!

Great trip hosted by Marco. Easy to find pick up and bus transfer to Montserrat. Marco was very friendly and knowledgeable on all aspects of the trip. The cable car trip to the monastery was awesome as was the monastery itself. Just enough time to see all the sights but if you want to go to the museum on site you might want a longer visit. The trip to the restaurant afterwards was brilliant, Marco and the hosts let us know what the local specialities were and the 3 course meal with loads of wine was fantastic. I can thoroughly recommend this trip to all. Many thanks to Marco.

This was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Montserrat is stunning and Ariadne was informative, funny and full of information. We would loved to have spent a couple of days at this location. This tour was a great introduction and left us wanting more. I was surprised about the stunningly spiritual nature of this experience. Even though I am not Catholic, when you enter the chamber that houses the Black Madonna you definitely know you are in a sacred space. I felt like I was entering the Holy of Holies to see the Ark of the Covenant. Also, the amazing museum at the site houses amazing art of many greats--Monet, Degas, famous Spanish artists, and even and Egyptian Mummy whose face you can look into. The farmhouse lunch was great and in an amazing location nestled at the base of the mountain at the end of a dirt road in the middle of an olive grove. I felt like I was on a movie set. A very special location and a great meal. Our group was about 20 people. Private and nice.
