Top 8 things to do in Monaco

When it comes to smallest countries, the country Monaco, capital of hedonism, is second only to the Vatican, capital of holiness. Money can buy anything in this glamorous state, anything except maybe the view of the Mediterranean from Monaco-Ville.

Prince's Palace of Monaco

This building has been the residence of the Monaco prince since 1191—and it remains so today, as well as a museum and center of tourism.

Rock of Monaco

After you watch the changing of the guards at the Prince's Palace, take a short walk to Monaco-Ville, aka Old Town, seated on this giant monolith looking over the coast.

Jardin Exotique de Monaco

Jardin Exotique de Monaco

This “exotic garden” is a cliffside botanical garden with a rich collection of cacti and spectacular views of the sea. Be sure to take a private tour of the cave.

Opera de Monte-Carlo

Opera de Monte-Carlo

Catching a show in this amazing French-style opera house is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but its stateliness is even worth admiring from the outside.

Oceanographic Museum

Oceanographic Museum

Rising from the cliffside, overlooking the sea, is the monumental Baroque Revival building. Not only is there an aquarium, but many sea-related objects are on view.

Grimaldi Forum

This gigantic conference center is seafront on Larvotto. Check their official website for events ranging from exhibitions to ballet.

Monaco Grand Prix

Monte Carlo Casino

You can thank Princess Caroline for this paradise proposed to save the House of Grimaldi from bankruptcy. You might recognize this Monaco casino from a few Bond movies.

Planning Your Monaco Visit

Keep Your Passport On You

This is the first rule of Monaco nightlife. It’s actually the law to have a personal ID on you at all times, and you’ll likely be asked to flash it before entering a Monaco club.

Walk everywhere

How big is it? The entire country is less than three miles wide. Plan to stroll and enjoy the scenery, but take comfortable walking shoes!

What people are saying about Monaco

A day to remember.... my best trip I ever had

Every step is wonderful.. starting from the exact time for picking up from the hotel till dropping off.. We were a small group (five persons). First I would like to thank Our tour guide Reem who was the best thing during the day...she was very kind helpful.. warm.. nice..give us all the time we need to discover each place we went to. She had a lot of information and tell us every details on a very simple way..same like she are telling a story.. She offered me to complete the day & join the group to Anteb. Cannes & an amazing french village named Sant poul d'..... All the places we went to is like a heaven...really I had an amazing day...visit a lot of cities and places in one day I highly recommend to have this trip and make it a full day not half to discover the beauty of French Revira & the amazing French village's... Thank u Reem for making my day...

Enjoyable but too much to see in half day

Driver was late to pick up, however when I called office to check on arrival time they blamed me for not being outside apartment (which I was 15 mins before advised arrival time) driver eventually arrived 45 mins late due traffic hold ups (understandable) but not good for office to make me feel that I was somehow responsible for delay!! Tour was great and Fragonard very interesting, but would say half day cannot do justice to Monaco and Eze next time I will allow a day for each.

Once in a life time experience! Excellent, well worth the cost.

Driver showed up on time at hotel. He was personable, informative and a great driver. I drove for a half hour and let Ail drive the car the other half hour as it should be driven. I enjoyed being the co pilot even more! He new the roads and when to put the car in performance mode.....exilerating power! Unbelievable ride with Ail (spelling name?) we had great conversations I give him 5 Stars also. Thanks for a wonderful experience, Tom Keenan

Views were great but driver was lackluster

If you can get a good driver who is enthusiastic this would be a great tour. We enjoyed the stops and the views but luckily I researched the places I would be before hand and knew what to expect. Driver gave overview of area but no details on any of the things to do or places to go and even skipped old town Nice.
