What people are saying about Mitte
We really enjoyed our bike tour. Let's start by saying my husband had just learned to ride a bike not too long ago, and they offered helmets and bike gloves to those who felt they wanted it, at no extra charge. They also provided us with a bike lock incase the tour was too difficult for him, so that he would be able to leave at any point without slowing the rest of the group down (which I thought was amazing, and thankfully wasn't needed). The bikes had baskets on the back and they offered bungie cords in order to secure our bags. Our guide was Lauren, an incredibly educated and passionate South African woman who is obsessed with Berlin's history, was able to really break down the layered history of each site for us foreigners to understand the state and mind of the city. I would highly recommend this tour for any and all who are interested in seeing some key sites of Berlin on a mode of transportation so wonderful and accepting in the city!
This tour cleverly drew your attention to the subtle ways that Berlin has memorialised it's tragic history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about her job. I felt like the 3.5 hours was well utilised. Berlin by bike is definitely the best way to see and appreciate Berlin.
started from an old brewery site - followed the route of the Berlin Wall for quite a while, then switched to sites linked to Nazism & WW2 - book-burning, Reichstag, Holocaust memorial etc. Guide was knowledgeable & enthusiastic. gloves & helmets provided - good job, cos it was damn cold !
Simon was a wonderful guide. He was concerned about us and wanted us to enjoy this experience teaching us amazing things that I didn’t know about this city. Like the ‘smallest memorial’ and the art and the experience of the abstract memorial and more!!! Thanks Simon! You are awesome!
I don't usually sign up for group activities like this, but I am glad I did! The tour was lots of fun, really informative, and a great way to get my bearings right after arriving in Berlin. Our tour guide was a former history professor and really knew her stuff. Highly recommended,
