Allowing us to decide how we wanted to spend our 2 hours, the excellent driver Miguel was extremely knowledgable and helpful, delivering an interesting comentary with knowledge and witt. This was the Saturday morning of a Friday thru Sunday March break and ideal for discovering the best way to spend the rest of a short break, both via sites we saw and highly informed dialogue with Miguel. Before and during the trip Miguel was extremely flexible, enabling us to spend however much time we wanted at whichever stop we wanted. The 2 hours flew by though, so we would recommend if somewhere is of particular interest a return visit by tram or on foot is a good idea rather than eat into the two hours. The trip was extremely enjoyable, extremely informative and without doubt our driver Miguel went the extra mile and far beyond. Thank you.
Our guide, Beatrice, made this tour one of the best things we did in Portugal. She was articulate, gave us some facts about history, current events, and fun facts. She made the sites exciting for us and took her time answering questions, took her time climbing the hills, and made sure to cater to each and every tour guest. The tour itself took us through the old town, the Alfama district, several churches, the Carmo Convent, a couple of viewpoints, a tram ride, and a coffee (BICA) and Pastel de Nada break. We learned about where certain Portugal names came from, the earthquake and the effects on the city, the current traditions, and the origination of the tile work, the churches, and celebrations. I highly recommend this tour and hope to book more tours in the future because of this one.
We really loved her! She is a very pleasant person with very good English and with a very vast general knowledge on the history of Lisbon, Portugal and culture in general. She doesn't just give you some quick answers or descriptions about the places we visited. Every street you see with her is a beautiful story. Also we strongly recommend to book this experience in the first days you arrive at Lisbon. Because she will present you the best places to see and will help you organise your trip better depending on your preferences. And what is so interesting is that, especially because this trip isn't about the main attractions of Lisbon, it makes you understand this city better. Thank you so much for the great day we had with you!
Marissa, our guide was an engaging and passionate leader of our group of 10 persons. She knows the history, art and architecture of Lisbon. Our scheduled 3-hour walk was closer to 3 - 1/2 hours because she took her time with us and answered all of our questions as we walked through various parts of Lisbon. I absolutely give this a 5-star rating!
This is a great tour to get introduced to Lisbon and Portugal’s impressive history. Our guide (Catarina) was very knowledgeable and had great stories about key historical events affecting the country and the city. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend to anyone going to Lisbon
