Clara was fantastic. Cooking was the highlight of our weekend in Milan

An amazing 5 hours with Clara in Milan.Italian passion about locally sourced produce from a local market. What to look for, logos indicating locally produced cheese, how to select the best local Porcinni mushrooms. Listening to passionate Italian banter about the produce. Sampled some cheeses. Walked back and welcomed into her home. Everything explained. Used various items such as heat indication devices to find out the temperature in a meat joint and a cake.Hands on cooking, following recipes in a clear and concise way. All great fun learning and creating an Italian four course lunch. Clara has patience, knowledge and humour. A professional cook coping with six strangers in her kitchen! Loved the communal group dynamic. How does gnocchi know when to surface in the boiling water?! Clara’s only mistake was to let us sample the runny cheese for the sauce. There wasn’t much left for the sauce! To finish we all ate together at the table, sampled wine and Prosecco. Thankyou so much.

Fantastic experience cooking with Clara!

This was one of the best things we did in Milan- can’t recommend it highly enough. We had a very enjoyable evening learning how to make homemade pizza, pasta and tiramisu! Clara was a wonderful teacher and host and the group we met were lovely. A great experience!

Delightful morning exploring Italian cooking with excellent company.

We visited Milan with my sister this time and decided to take a cooking class at the last minute. Clara's class was available so we signed up. It was a wonderful class and Clara is a great teacher. Our dishes were vegetarian as a third couple joined us, but the dishes we made were wonderful. We really enjoyed the cannoli making. We are northern Italians but the dishes she made were southern. It was a good break. Pasta Alla Norma is a new dish for us and may become a regular. We have used eggplant in the past but didn't know to soak it to remove the bitter taste. Nor did we every fry it. Orecchiette is difficult to make but fun. Fusilli with broccoli florets was really good. We also learned more about the DOCG ratings and their meanings. The fun was fun and informal. We would recommend Clara's class for anyone.

Fantastic and fun way of learning the secrets of italian cuisine

Our Chef Clara brought our team of six apprentices to a local market and taught us how to select properly local seasonal products; this activity included of course some sampling of delicious cheeses. Back in her kitchen we learned to prepare 4 different dishes, including how to prepare pasta from scratch and a nice 'torta'. The teaching is in a real house kitchen, so you learn with utensils that you have at home, although hers has nothing to envy a restaurant's kitchen. You also learn some basic tricks on how to organize yourself to prepare all the dishes in sequence so you don't end up with one of them under- or overcooked. Making pasta was fun and easy, and far less messy as I expected. She keeps an eye on each one of the participants, and helps you understand and achieve the techniques quite easily. There were other similar offers, but she is the only one that included the visit to the market, plus she and her husband make the best Italian hosts. Highly recommended!!
