What people are saying about Meknes
We had a fantastic day. We learned so much and met some lovely people and guides. Our guide stopped anywhere we wanted for pictures etc. It is important for people booking to know that nothing is included. You must pay entry to all the sites, (which is small $7-10 each place) and we even had to pay one guide which kind of surprised us. So ask your main guide lots of questions to understand process. Don’t be shy! We particularly loved our guide in Voloubilis who shared a lot of history on Morocco in general. He was fantastic.
If you love exploring ancient ruins, then Volubilis is a great place to visit, well worth it. Meknes is a nice city, but not sure whether stopping by for a few hours was worth it; its scale demanded more time. Great driver, put in a lot of effort to make us feel comfortable, a great guy.
A great drive through Morocco countryside to Volubilis ( large part of the trip), Moulay Idriss and Meknes. The driver was very nice and the hotel pick up was flawless. Wish we had more a detailed medina tour in Meknes. It was a beautiful city
A shame the price to enter the Volubilis site (which we visited) and to enter the Meknes (which we didn’t get to visit) went up from 10MAD to 70MAD by state order without us getting that info through Get Your Guide.
The Roman ruins is a must see and also the hilltop town of Mouley Indriss. The royal city Meknes was good also but the Médina did not compare with Fes. Overall an excellent day.
