Full description
Head out to San Sebastián de Palmitas, just 45 minutes from Medellín, to begin your unique coffee tour. After hotel pick-up, set off for a coffee-making farm and enjoy listening to a brief history about the origin of the coffee and how it was first brought to Colombia. Take the chance to dress in the typical costume of the paisa muleteer, including hat, poncho, paruma, and the tail of a rooster. Later, move on to a coffee plantation to carry out the coffee harvest, reducing the mixture to a pulp and finally, drying it.

After these activities, sit down for a refreshing drink of musilago (coffee juice) and a tea made from the coffee pulp. Savor a typical dish from the region made of banana with honey and cheese. Hear your guide explain some techniques on how to prepare and drink coffee and have a short tasting of different coffees and servings. Later, try a typical dish of the paisa muleteer consisting of rice, yuca, ground beef, boiled egg, sausage, and banana. Try preparing your coffee to your own taste with the information you have just learned from your guide.

Finally, receive a pack of coffee as a gift and have the chance to buy farm products at the shop. If the option is chosen, also experience a 2 hour horseback ride through the farm to some viewpoints. All instructions will be given to inexperienced riders.

This coffee tour was amazing. I would definitely do it again. Celene is amazing and so humble & kind. She makes you feel at home. I just fell in love with Paisa people. The coffee was amazing and I learned so much about coffee. I definitely recommend it 100% And Johnny who picked us up from our Hotel is an awesome guy he told us great stories about Medellín on our way to the coffee tour. Don Carlos gave us the greatest horseback ride tour. It was my first time and at first it was scary but Don Carlos was so patient and I just loved it at the end. Awesome tour!! Awesome people!! Love the coffee!!

Wonderful experience! We learned a lot about coffee. Celene knows how to transmit her knowledge with great enthusiasm and love for what she does. It made us laugh and feel at home. The hospitality of Celene and Carlos (great poet) is 10. The coffee tasting was a real Master class (as they say now). A luxury. Very, highly recommended. Only the landscape surrounding the estate is worth it. If I return to Medellín, I will surely return to his coffee plantation and see the seed that we planted converted into a plant and to taste with them again that wonderful coffee that with so much love and dedication they cultivate. I wish you the best in that beautiful project. They deserve it

This was the most amazing tour I’ve ever gone on. Starting with the hotel pickup and ride there, Julian gave us some historical background on the city and answered our questions. Upon arriving to the coffee farm Celene and her translator Yonny gave us all the history I never thought I’d know about coffee before we headed up for a variety of tastings. The lunch we were provided was one of the best we had during our entire visit to Medellin. Finally, we ended the day with a horseback ride through the scenic hills. This was an unexpectedly wild adventure with Carlos. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart but worth every minute. Celene is beyond sweet and knowledgeable, Yonny is a hilarious entertainer, and Carlos is a fun man who knows his vast land. They’re an amazing team.
