Full description
Start this comprehensive full-day tour of Provence with a visit to Aix-en-Provence, known as the city of water and art

Located approximately 19 miles (30 kilometers) from Marseille, Aix dates back to Roman times and has a beautiful wide promenade called the “Cours Mirabeau” lined with plane trees. See the amazing fountain of the Rotonde, as well as many cafés that were once frequented by Cezanne, Camus, Zola, and others.

The weekly market will give you the opportunity to savor the regional produce, including fresh cheese and olive oil, as well as scented Marseille soap.

Then, head to the village of Cassis, driving the Crest road and up to the highest maritime cliff in Europe, Cape Canaillto, for spectacular views of the Bay. Stroll the charming fishing port, where you can try thier famous Pastis (anis flavored liquor), before an optional 45-minute boat cruise through the breathtaking calanques (rocky, limestone inlets).

End your day with a panoramic tour of Marseille, including a stop at the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, with its panoramic view of the city, Frioul Islands, and Château d'If. End at the 11th-century Abbey of Saint-Victor, guarding the entrance to the Vieux Port.

The trip itself was very nice, the guide was kind. But I must say that they called us at 9am. I arrived at 8.50 am early and the driver arrived until 9.32am. 40 minutes waiting for him on the street at a temperature of 4 degrees and it was not pleasant. Otherwise well

Great day with Gail- free time in every location which was very appreciated. Due to weather and low season there were no boats to see calanques so Gail actually drove us to one so we could see it from above. The views on this tour are outstanding and Gail was very nice and flexible. An excellent day- thank you!

The places we have to visit are beautiful, but we visit them alone

The guide explains a lot about the history of the city we will see, but only on the way to the places we will visit. When we arrive we are abandoned and we go around alone with the help of a photocopy of a card where we have numbers but no legend on what means the numbers. It is the same as having a táxi heater which informs us about the places to visit.
