Good way to see the town if you've got 24 hrs. We were on a cruise ship and couldn't take advantage of all the offerings.
We spent 3 days in Marseille and made good use of the 72 hour City Pass visiting Chateau D'If (the boats don't always run if windy so check the weather forecast), taking the tram to Palais de Longchamps, the Petit Train to Notre Dame de la Garde, visiting MuCem amongst other things. The only thing that was disappointing was the walking tour of the Vieux Port and Panier district. We booked the English tour but were the only two English people on it so at every stop we listened to 10 mins of French and if we were lucky she remembered to give us 1 min in English (usually whilst walking to the next stop). This was really disappointing and the only walking tour we have ever had a bad experience on!. I would recommend the City Pass.
Very good advice given to me in the tourist office. My only regret is that I did not have time to see all museums etc. included.
Really glad I did it as I wouldn’t have seen quite so much of the city in my short period of time there as I did. But some of the stops just aren’t really worth getting off at, it seems like they added them so they had more stops. Also wish there was an app to track where the busses were cuz I probably wasted so much time waiting for the next bus (cuz just adding 45 minutes to when I got off didn’t seem to help me at all). But otherwise it’s a good little tour with friendly drivers and staff and Marseille is beautiful.
A must do experience to see most main sights of central Marseille and also gain a quick historical understanding of the city. Good commentary and beautiful sights along the coast, harbour and old town. The bonus is, of course, that for no extra cost, you can get on and off the bus whenever you like to explore the various sights, saving you time and energy of walking everywhere (especially up and down the steep hills). Enjoyed it.
