What people are saying about Marrakech

Great experience despite a very cold night in the desert

We visited Merzouga in January 2019. The trip is long, but we had a very good driver who drove safely and stopped for lunch, toilet etc. We heard from another group that they had a crazy driver so we were lucky! On our way we visited many interesting spots. The highlight was the tour to Aït Ben Haddou - the place where Gladiator, Indiana Jones and Game of thrones movies were shot. There was also a canyon on the way. Then we spent a night in a hotel. We had to share a room with two more girls and the room was freezing cold. I did not manage to sleep even though I had winter clothes on. Later when we spent a night in a tent in Sahara it was not as cold as in that hotel. Next evening finally Merzouga! The camel trip and the sky full of stars is fully worth the long trip. However it got again super cold in the night and morning and we did not manage to do the photoshoot in a dress. Later we learnt from locals that the best time to visit Merzouga is April-May. No toilet in the desert!

Very nice landscape, absolutely worth it

You will see interesting landscapes ans some very nice places! Camel ride is a bit painful (1hour to get to the camp) but you can also walk it and let the camel only carry your backback) Sleeping is quite basic, but okay (hot water in the Hotel and hearting/Aircondition provided) Be prepared, that it can get also very cold during the night and also in the (Atlas) mountains)! (so bring a jacket and so on) Better bring a small/middle sized backpack , not a suitcase/trolley (for the desert trip. or at least have an additional small backpack with you) A sleeping bag is not absolutely needed (but in the desert camp , it can be a help to feel more comftable because the blankets and so on are a bit shabby) It a long drive, but the Driver makes a stop every -2 hours, so it' s okay. OurDriver was driving save - but : it s a mountain road , it s a long ride, there are people on the road sometimes and there might happen accidents You will get some food/water alomost everywhere to buy.

Despite a couple problems, the tour was great.

Overall, it was an incredible experience. The sites are amazing to see. Our main guide/driver was kind and an excellent driver. However, don't expect to hear much information at each site. I often found myself in places and didn't know what I was looking at or the name of the place. There are two points where you go off with an extra local guide: once at Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and another the second day near Tinghir and the Todra Gorge. The first guide was fine, but the second was very rude. He stood by the van door and told us that we couldn't go inside until we tipped him. He then openly criticized one of the tourists who didn't tip him very much. The first night we spent at a hotel. My room was extremely cold and we didn't have hot water so we had cold showers. You spend one night in a tent in the Sahara (remember: no toilet!). They didn't have enough camels for everyone. It was very dark (they didn't light any fire) and the desert guides were not very friendly.

Amazing journey although if you can do four day one do it.

The journey to the Sahara was great, but some time spent on the miki bus. If you can do the four day one do it. Only other issue was that I was separated from the group when We reached the Sahara because I booked online nd paid more. The plus was I got a shower the next morning, which the others didn't. The downside I didn't spend the all important night in the desert with the group but with a random family. After spending time with the rest of the people on the tour you might want to be with them for the Sahara night.

An amazing trip to sahara desert of Zagora

This tour was really our holiday highlights , we enjoyed it so much , the pick up was at 7:20 , it was very hard for the driver to find our accommodation but we were lucky that we told them before and we arranged a meeting point . the transportation was air-conditioned , the stops were amazing , the team in Zagora were very warm welcoming , the camel trek and the sleeping under the stars were really a dream . excellent tour and RECOMMENDED 100/100 FOR EVERYONE .
