Full description
Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy towns and resorts of Mallorca on a full-day adventure tour in the Tramuntana Mountains.

Meet on Plaza de España in Palma de Mallorca for the local bus transfer into the mountains of Mallorca’s west coast. Then, hike a historic path, once used by postmen to go from village to village. Learn about the native plants of the Mediterranean, and enjoy panoramic views from the mountaintop.

Discover the Arabic influences of the Serra de Tramuntana, and visit beauty spots that only the locals know about. The walk is fairly easy-going and along a marked trail. It will take approximately 3 hours (including stops), and includes elevations of 300 meters up and 400 meters downhill. Find a hidden beach far off the tourist trail. Laze in the sun and sea with the locals.

Feast on a typical Mallorcan lunch of empanadas and cocas de trampò. Taste some delicious desserts, such as ensaimada or agatò with almonds. In the summer months, you can work off the calories with a dip in the sea. In the winter, lie out in the sun and soak up the easy Mediterranean vibe.

Board a local bus in the afternoon for the return transfer to Palma, where you’re free to explore on your own.

We were a small group of five and our guide Izaskun made it a fun day. It’s a short journey by bus to Esporles where we collected our lunch from the local bakery before setting off on the Postman’s way. The path winds it’s way through woodland on stone paths to the sea with fantastic views. Our guide told us lots about the history, the area and Mallorcan life. It took just under three hours to reach Banyalbufar where we ate our Mallorcan lunch by the sea before catching the bus back. A great day out.

The day was amazing - it was a beautiful walk with a lot of history too. I’m not that active and it was the first hike I’ve done and it was achievable for me. There was also a couple who had been on many hikes and they seemed to enjoy it too, so it’s a real mix of abilities that can go. The beach area at the end was beautiful and in the summer I can imagine it would be lovely to swim there! The food was amazing! Izaskun (our tour guide) picked some really nice pastries for us and told us about them too! Izaskun is really lovely and very friendly. Happy to talk to you and answer any questions. She kept the pace reasonable and made sure we kept stopping for water breaks! She made the trip memorable and if I was in Palma for longer I would have booked another tour (the tapas one or the cooking class) with her!
