Well worth taking North Coast & Malahide Castle half- day tour

Meeting point a little awkward to get to because of the tram line development but once there, a warm welcome from our guide for this tour. Having boarded the bus our guide gave us a brief preview of where we will be going along with the 'house rules' and off we went, arriving precisely on time at Malahide Castle. Over the next 40 mis Mary guided us through this interesting castle and then onto some refreshments in the busy cafe. Once back on board we headed along the cost road past some magnificent coastal scenery to Howth is a tourist hot spot with a little fishing village with lots of seafood restaurant, stopping here for an hour. We had to indulge in the local calamari and a wee Jameson. We carried on along the coastal road with a view back to Dublin along with a constant and interesting commentary by our guide who even entertained us with some local folk songs, with some folks joining in, great fun! Very careful & caring driver arrived back in Dublin on time. Top man!

Interesting tour. Great guide. Needed more time. Nice overall...

This was an enjoyable, informative and scenic short tour - well worth the time and money. Took this on our third trip to Ireland and worried that another castle tour might be redundant - but Malahide was interesting. The history of one family living 800 years (30+ generations) in the same residence - and how they lost the estate - is fascinating. Our guide pointed out the original 2 story tower and described all of the building additions creating the castle you see today. Sadly, once the castle tour was over, it was time to leave. We didn't get to tour the highly touted gardens on the estate. Howth is a picturesque fishing village with quaint little shops and cafes. There were fishing boats unloading their catch at a lively Fish Market, Crews working on boats, nets, etc. Lots of activity & photo ops. The scenery along the North Coast of Dublin Bay on the return trip to the city was a pleasant ending to the tour.

An interesting trip with a talkative guide

A trip to Malahide Castle was interesting, but for us would be better to visit only the castle with a longer time to enjoy the beautiful large garden. The guide Gerry was friendly, but for foreingers was a little bit problematic to understand him all, what he told us.

Take this tour for a fun, informative tour!

Great tour-we loved riding atop the open air bus (optional). Our bus driver was informative and funny! The Castle tour was longer than usual so we were unable to see all of the gardens but normally, plenty of time. a 9/10 over-all and highly recommend.

Good tour for history with consistent stories from the tour guide

The tour was good but it was very "talk" heavy. Not a great tour for those not interested in history but there was a lot of information presented during the 5 hours. The tour guide had a lot of stories that filled in the driving time nicely.
