A great way to see Mumbai in a short period of time

I booked the 3 day Mumbai tour through Get your guide. Everything was run fairly seamlessly (although I wish I had some more details on the daily timing farther in advance - for example, my tour of Elephanta was done by 1:30pm and if I had known that in advance I might have planned something else for the afternoon). The guides were overall really great. In particular, Rahul (Roy) who led my city tour + slum tour was excellent. He had great english and knowledge about everything he took me to see. The lowlight was the Bollywood Studio tour (if you don't have 3 days I'd suggest skipping this) - my guide didn't speak English that well and wasn't an "expert" in Bollywood movies so I didn't learn any anecdotes or history about the Bollywood movie scene, which I was looking forward to. The elephanta caves tour was also really really interesting, and my guide on the island was really knowledgeable and very nice. I had the same driver, Bikram, all three days and he was really nice & reliable!

Amazing experience - must do, if you are in Mumbai

We got picked up from the hotel - exactly at the mentioned time (8:30 am), even though it was around 2 h away from the gate of India. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. He explained us everything about the tour itself and all other things we were interested in. After reaching the Gate of India we approached the boat right away, the seats can be chosen freely. The boat ride to Elephanta Island takes around 1 h. There we met the „cave guide“. He is a local and know very well about the caves. This was one of the most interesting experiences I had in India. Additionally, he made amazing pictures of us. Both guides were talking a very good English, so we could communicate easily. Overall the tour took around 8 h (without additional costs, of course) for us, because of the long bus ride between our hotel and the gate of India. I highly recommend to do that tour, because of the great organization, no hidden costs and the amazing cave guide.

Good introduction to Indian street food generally

Nikesh is an engaging and knowledgeable guide, speaking good English, and his tour covered a wide cross-section of Mumbai. A challenge for us was that I had just had major surgery on my hip and was still partially on crutches. Although I'm pretty agile, we hadn't realised quite how much walking the tour involved. And Nick's natural inclination is to walk VERY quickly. He did his best to slow down but I suspect this was rather difficult for him! In the end, we sadly had to bail on the last couple of stops. Luckily my husband and I were the only two in the group so it didn't matter. In retrospect we would have preferred to have been introduced to more purely local dishes instead of the Keralan thali - Mumbai's famous vada pav, for instance, wasn't even included. But perhaps Nick had this planned as a surprise for the final stop?

Absolutely wonderful and totally safe (as a woman, travelling alone)

The female guide was very well informed about everything, her English was perfect and very understandable. We walked, went with different caps and had a ride with a train (women's section). So I experienced a lot of different parts of Mumbai, even a Fishing Village, Second hand Market, Lokal Market ... The guide (Sukanya) always asked in what I would be interested. It was definitely worth the money. I would always book it again. !! Thank you for the great experience.

Mumbai: Private Tour with a Local Reviewed by Alexandra, 02/03/2018

Fantastic but ridiculously expensive on this site

I had a great experience. Later on when the tour operator who organised this tour, linked me to their site...I found out that a day like this actually only costs €35 for 2 persons instead of €250 for two persons. This is a ridiculous difference! My advise, if you find the local guide I would say, go for that! Because what you pay here is too much.
