A five day journey which will bring you from the bustling city of Madrid through the Spanish and Portuguese countryside to Portugal’s stunning capital city.

Discover the history of both countries by visiting medieval towns and historic cities such as Salamanca and Avila. See Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in Europe, and learn about the birthplace of Fado, Portugal’s traditional music.

Visit the important pilgrimage location at Fatima, before traveling to the beautiful city of Lisbon. Enjoy a sightseeing tour to introduce you to the city before having the opportunity to explore the city at your own pace. Your journey will end with a cultural visit to the famous Roman Theater in Mérida before returning to Madrid.

This wonderful 5 day tour will give you the chance to really explore the Iberian peninsula, experiencing the history and culture of Spain and Portugal, discovering fairytale palaces, bustling cities and medieval towns.

Day 1. Madrid- Oporto (Meals: D)

After departure from the bus terminal at 08:00, begin your journey to Salamanca. Take a brief stop to walk though this monumental city and its famous Plaza Mayor. Continue your journey across the Portuguese borders, crossing the International bridge over the Minho River. Arrive in Oporto, eat dinner and check-in to your accommodation.

Day 2: Oporto - Coimbra - Fatima (Meals: B)

After breakfast, enjoy a morning city sightseeing tour of this charming city by the Duero. Oporto is famous for its wines, bridges, the coast, its Cathedral, San Francisco church and the Palacio da Bolsa. Continue to Coimbra, site of one of the oldest universities in Europe and birthplace of Fado. Enjoy some free time, then in the afternoon continue to Fatima. Have dinner and check-in to your accommodation. 

Day 3: Fatima - Lisbon (Meals: B)

In the morning you will explore Fatima, an important pilgrimage center. You will have some free time to visit the Shrine before continuing towards Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, located at the mouth of river Tagus. Your overnight accommodation will be in Lisbon.

Day 4: Lisbon (Meals: B)

Day begins with a morning city sightseeing tour that takes you to the old Alfama Quarter, the Tower of Belem, the Monastery of Los Jeronimos, etc. You can explore the rest of the city during your free time in the afternoon or opt to take a tour to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril.

Day 5. Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid (Meals: B)

After breakfast, depart to the border with Spain and continue to Caceres. Enjoy some time at your leisure to explore its Plaza Mayor and to walk through the old city and its famous medieval quarter, very well preserved and considered a World Heritage site. Have lunch, at your own expense. Continue to Madrid, where your tour will end.

Our coach departs from the bus terminal located in San Bernardo 7, close to Madrid´s famous Gran Via. The closest metro stations to the bus terminal are Santo Domingo (Line 2) and Callao (Lines 3 and 5), located 2 and 5 minutes walking distance respectively from the terminal. We provide pick-up from selected hotels according to our bus route. Please indicate the name of your hotel for confirmation.
