What a great day we had on our tour to Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle. It may have rained on our boat ride around Loch Lomond but It didn’t dampen our spirits. The rain lifted and the sun came out for an afternoon at Stirling Castle. Jennifer was a wonderful guide...keeping us informed in advance of our stops along the tour, inspiring us with fitting Scottish tunes all while safely navigating along the winding roads. Jennifer made the tour for us!..,pleasant, informed, funny, patient, and came prepared with a bag of carrots for the hairy coos...and shortbread for each of us on our drive back to Glasgow
Tour guide did not even bother to introduce himself to us. On boarding the bus he told us that boat cruise was not happening because we did not have the numbers. We complained that we had paid for a full tour, and he had to spend time looking for a boat for us to get on. This infringed on our tour time. He didnt even know what time the castle closed. The castle was Ok, but was full of empty rooms. That didnt really appeal to me. In saying all the above, Loch Lamond was beautiful and really enjoyed that In saying the above,
We loved the tour. James went above and beyond! Took us on the scenic route instead of the fastest route. If you can request a guide ask for James with Timberbush. He slowed many photo stops. I had taken this tour in hopes that I would get to see theHighland Coos. He did not disappoint and gave me postcards with the Coos front and center. This was the best tour I have been on and we have been on many on this trip!! James was the best-thank you!
On the tour, we saw bits and pieces of the Scottish countryside and concluded the tour at the beautiful Stirling Castle. Our guide, Steven, knew some really nice spots to admire the scenery, and made the car rides entertaining by telling us about the places we traversed and playing some Scottish music. Surprisingly, we also had an opportunity to see some Hereford cattle on our way to the Castle which was a nice little addition.
Loved all the sites and especially the lunch in Aberfoyle (sorry if spelt incorrectly). Had a great day and learned that perhaps I should research a little more about the history and not depend too much on the movie Braveheart!! Everyone we encountered was wonderful and friendly and a special thanks to Andy (tour guide) and Paul (castle guide) for making the trip worthwhile.
