Full description
London is famous for the skyscrapers that mark it as one of the world's premier financial centers, but it also boasts a number of green and open spaces that offer a unique perspective on the history of the area.

Starting in the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral, this tour begins at the rose gardens at a church once graced by medieval royal burials. From there, move on to see the brutalist development built to reinvigorate the city following WWII, but not before paying respect to William Shakespeare and the otherwise forgotten heroes and heroines who gave their lives to save others.

Continuing the tour, hear about the recent discovery of a mass grave dating back to the 14th century, in the shadow of the “smooth field,” which has been the site of public executions, rebellions, and today meat market.

Finally, finish the tour with a visit to the site of a 17th-century theater, before progressing to the cemetery where dissenters and radicals were buried.
  • 90-minute walking tour with a knowledgeable and passionate guide who is also a published author and public speaker
