  • Have a picnic by the gardens of Hampton Court Palace
Full description
Your cruise will start/finish in Walton on Thames, where your guide will welcome you on board with a cappuccino and a danish pastry in front of a wood-burning stove. They will then show you around the boat and chat with you briefly about safety procedures whilst on board. With that out of the way you will set out on your journey, which will be a chance to slow down, relax, and adapt to the pace of life on the river. The gorgeous and tranquil Surrey landscapes will help you with this process. Your first lock will be only 30 minutes away, and for those with no previous experience this will be a chance to familiarize yourself with the procedure of "passing a lock" and to take an active part with the handling of the boat. It's bound to be good fun and a way to learn about life on the river. All seasons are very picturesque on the Thames, and a good camera is a must. With the usual clothing suitable to season and weather forecast don't forget a warm jumper, waterproof jacket, and easy on-off shoe (as they are not allowed below deck). There will be plenty of soft drinks, tea, coffee and snacks to keep you going. A full Royal Picnic will also be served when moored up next to Hampton Court Palace's gardens, and a good riverside pub will be never too far away.
