João picked us up close to our Airbnb. Then we drove round about 45 minutes to the first vineyard/museum. We were shown around and learned about the history of the company (7 generations) and how the vineyard is making wine. Afterwards we had a wine tasting with two wines. The second spot was a farm where we saw cork trees, tasted grapes from the bush and tried 5 local wines. The last stop was a village that acts as a storage for local producers. Here we tried another 5 wines and had a great goat cheese plate. You are not forced or animated at any stage of the trip to purchase the wine. It's your personal choice. João is a very talkative person. We learned a lot about wines from him, but also Portuguese olive oil, his personal story and wine-production efforts. He's a really great guy and we totally recommend the trip. The whole trip was covid19 regulations conform. A small tip - take some water with you because there was none offered with the wine tasting.
Absolutely loved our journey with the tour guide Antonio. He was absolutely hilarious from before we even stepped into his vehicle. He was kind, friendly and accommodating. He went above and beyond what we were expecting. The amount of history, facts, figures and stories he shared with us was amazing and we were more than grateful to have a private tour with Antonio!
The smal and cosy restaurants, where we've tasted different wines (from the duoro region), gave us an intimate look into those parts of the Alfama neighbourhoood - Mostly those parts which are usually not visited by the tourists, because there arent't any obvious sights
The tuk-tuk was a great way to see Lisbon. We were able to hop on and off at a variety of sites. Joao, our driver, took us to sites that interested us and gave us great background information on all the sites. He let us go at our pace and stop where we wanted to stop.
The sidecar experience through and around Lisbon was great. We got to see the uncrowded Lisbon and even into the authentic parts of the city. Our guide, Sergio, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the city, it’s history and inhabitants.
