Full description
In their search for tranquility, artistic inspiration, religious or mystical contemplation; kings, nobles, writers, musicians, painters and rich travelers made Sintra their destination. For admirers of the 19th century Romanticism, Sintra is its holy capital and Pena Palace its highest landmark.
In 1995 Sintra was classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

This guided visit will let you understand why Sintra has been so acclaimed along the times. You will feel the magic atmosphere of the mountain and admire the enchanted architecture of its houses and palaces.  The tour begins at 08:45 in your hotel in central Lisbon or Cascais, and will take you through a beautiful scenic route to Sintra, visiting the coast of Estoril (named the Portuguese Riviera). Cascais, known for its aristocratic and romantic houses, is home to the  famous surf beach of Guincho and the Roca Cape -  the western-most point of continental Europe.
You'll also cross the mountain of Sintra, and get a deep flavor of the surrounding nature.

In Sintra you will have time to visit one or two monuments of your preference, have lunch, stroll in the town, and taste the famous local pastry specialty, the “Queijada” cake.  The 8-hour tour finishes around 17:00 at your hotel.
