What people are saying about Lauterbrunnen
You need to be lucky with the weather in order to fully appreciate Jungfraujoch. I wasnt able to see anything on top of Jungfrau due to the weather but the train ride to the top definitely makes up for it. You get to enjoy beautiful scenery in the cogwheel trains to and from the Jungfraujoch. No one mentioned this anywhere but bring your sunglasses, waterbottle, something to eat and layer up. The mountain can be super bright due to the reflection from the snow; you can get dehydrated and it does not help with the altitude sickness; food on top of Jungfrau is crazy expensive; and it gets cold up there. One more thing about the altitude sickness: it hits pretty hard. Many people were affected by it including my parents and had to sitdown for half of the time spent in Jungfrau
It was an enjoyable trip for our 1st-time in Europe. We were able to proceed on with our intinerary pretty much on time (minus the train delay) and it was a safe drive to and from Zurich. 1 thing that can be improved - to advise all passengers how much time to spend at each of the attractions as well as the closing times of the shops/restaurants. We rushed through the shops and almost didn't grab any food and it was a long ride down Jungfrau and ride back to Zurich. This is especially important since it was Xmas Day.
Tour went smoothly, although it was much larger tham I anticipated (about 60 people). It worked out fine but as the guide did a good job and tourmates respect the meeting time. I can see it is very difficult to manage such a large group with one guide and the meeting point is really busy so it's almost impossible to keep track on headcounts.
Tour guides were very friendly, cheerful, informative and helpful. One even lent his own battery pack when I ran out of cellphone battery. Jungfraujoch itself is worth going to and spending time and tour money for because of the other beautiful places along the way from Zurich (Lucerne, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen)
This is a great day trip and would definitely recommend. We had a great tour lead and well organised day. The short stop in Interlaken was perfect with lovely view and beautiful town. Unfortunately we had bad weather at the summit but the train ride both up and down to Top of Europe was phenomenal.
