My fiancee and I had the best time with our guide Yuly. We met at the hostel/hotel and then went to get breakfast. The breakfast was at a local spot and it was great. We had option of tamales, caldo de costilla, and eggs, coffee, juice or chocolate. Afterwards, we went to Choachi and had some stops to learn more about the native plants and their properties; we also had the opportunity to try the coca leaf to help with elevation sickness. Throughout the breakfast/lunch, car ride, and hike, Yuly was very talkative, knowledgeable, and informative about the indigenous culture, the Andean mountains, the Chorrera, and the food. Yuly was also very responsive when we slowed down or stumbled over steps and she walked at a great pace for my partner and I. We also had the best arepas with guava and cheese of our lives!

From Bogotá: Hike to La Chorrera Waterfall With Meals Reviewed by

I'm so happy I booked this tour! It was an amazing experience and I loved all of it. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the local flora. He introduced and explained a lot of things to us, thought us a lot about Colombian culture. The waterfalls were so beautiful, but during the hike we get to see and experience the swift changes of ecosystems which is so much fun! The hike is not too easy, so be in good health or have some general physical endurance. The tour also includes a breakfast and dinner at a local place with typical for Bogota dishes - it was super tasty and the owners, a married couple, were really friendly. I liked that we get to taste local food and help a small business grow. P.S. try every snack or food that is offered during the trip - you won't regret it!

This is a must-do experience while in Colombia. You get beautiful city views on the drive to/from, wonderful lush surroundings throughout the hike to and from actual waterfalls, and it’s just all gorgeous. There are some semi-challenging bits, but totally worth it. Our guide (Nick) was fantastic, very kind, informative, and super helpful. The breakfast and lunch were pretty great too!

Great experience and guide! Spectacular scenery. however, the tour description could be improved. this hike is actually a climb with significant elevation gain, so not suitable for everyone. The trail conditions should be described so people can decide if they can do this climb

Beautiful hike and you really earn the views of the waterfalls! Nice to get out of the city and see the Colombian countryside and farms. Well organized tour company and great guide Julie!
