Great way to enjoy nature however rougher then we will all thought. I expected lots of floating and a bit of bumps but to be honest it was the other way round. It is not suitable for everyone you need a level of fitness as you do get tossed about. I am bruised quit a bit and only fell off once. Research a bit better them we did as there was only one person supporting us and really it needed 2 one at front and one at rear to keep us moving and to assist when we all had a tumble. Our guide however was great and supportive .Would I do it again absolutely NOT, others in the group however would. It was not just exactly what I thought.
I enjoyed the Great Barrier Reef trip very much indeed, even though sadly the weather could have been better. The staff on board were helpful, professional and genuinely enjoyed their job. The food was outstanding and overall an excellent day out. The train and Skyrail was excellent helped by lovely weather and wonderful views. I stopped at the various stops on the Skyrail and enjoyed a wonderful talk by one of the rangers, all free of charge and the museum which was very informative. I would highly recommend this two day package for value, content and and if they could control the weather it would have been perfect beyond words.
More original crafts, clothing, arts, made by local artists/residents is better, too much imported items! Not enough time to see attractions, markets, food, earlier departures, later returns possible??More live performances by local aborigines, didgeridoo playing, traditional painting to show true culture(young gen. dont seem to be interested enough in their heritage), overall still a great exp. my 10 yr old daughter loved it so did l for the second time!
Given how much there was to see and do in Kuranda itself, the less than 70 minutes was unsatisfactory and the Palm Cove stop could be skipped entirely and that time spent well for up to 2 hours in Kuranda. We raced through Butterflies, birds and animals exhibits in the wild, missed see the village itself and its aboriginal culture entirely. However, we loved the train and tram rides and their stops with history, nature and cultural information!
It was good to get to the Skyrail early so that we had a gondola to ourselves. This meant that the photograph taken was only of the two of us. The staff were really professional - the only downside was on the way down where we had to climb several flights of stairs down then up to re/board the second Skyrail. This is not good for older people for whom no provision appeared to have been made.
