One of a kind tours - see, touch and lick 15 million year old Salt

Booked a guided tour with English speaking guide. I was picked up at my hotel and it was just a 30 minute drive to the mine. We were grouped with other people who came in different vehicles and were assigned an English speaking guide. Each of us were given an Audio device, and our guide was speaking in a transmitter. It was a good arrangement. 10zl fee to take video & pics. The guide was knowledgeable about the Mine and its history, was also speaking fluent English. She gave us a comprehensive history of the mine. We were told the tour would last between 3 to 4 hours but it only lasted for 2 hours. Towards the end of the tour, the guide gave us 20 mins free time, to do what we liked . I felt 20 mins was very short, considering there was a 20 minute documentary film, couple of chambers to cover, and a lift which takes you to top of the tallest chamber(with 5zl addnl fee). All this would have taken at least 40 minutes, perhaps 1 hour. I reduced half a star, since I missed the film.

Much deepened my understanding of the Jewish quarter

I booked this walking tour at the last minute - 2 hours before the tour. I got an instant e-mail confirmation, including a map of the meeting place (which was right by the market square in the Old Town). The tour itself was excellent. It turned out that I was the only customer! So, it became a private tour. The guide, Konrad, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned quite a bit of the history of the Jewish neighborhood, the residents' forceful relocation to the ghetto across the river, and the contemporary challenges of reclaiming the neighborhood. I was originally planning to walk around on my own, but I'm very glad that I chose to do the tour. Definitely worth it.

Excellent tour with an excellently informed and personable guide.

This was an excellent tour, giving us more than just an historic insight into Krakow and the war years. The guide was superb in contextualising the history of the city from the early modern period through to the second world war, within the general political scene of Poland and the country's place in the current European situation. The guide was an excellent communicator and wanted to engage the thoughts of those on the tour. He used the audience well and adapted his input to the needs of the group and their questioning.

Lots of drving but still enough time in the Tatra Mountains

The village with the wooden houses is nice and clean. The house visited was more like a museum. Zakapone is bigger than I thought with a big car free mile with lots of shops and cafes. The view on the mountain is limited because of the growing trees. If there would be more time, it would be a good hiking place.

Great way to try out the food and see the old town.

Great way to try out the food, visit some little places you probably wouldn't find and a nice walk around town. Genuinly freindly and knowledgeable guide. We were a family of 4 with two of us vegetarians and we all loved it.
