What people are saying about Krakow

Well worth the visit, and value for money

We went to the 4.30 tour on a Friday which was still busy. This was a group of about 12, differing ages 25-65, fortunately, all around the same level of fitness. Completed the tour in an hour and a half. Then queued around half an hour for life back up. Lifts hold 10 people including lift operators and are very small, so be prepared. Not an issue for me but maybe others if claustrophobic, though the journey back up is quick. Need to wear comfortable shoes, possibly an extra jkt or clothing, temperature in the mine is set at 17-18 degrees. Moving at a constant pace and relatively quickly, meant that I didn’t need extra clothing to keep warm. Initially a lot of steps (wooden) down to the mines. One set of steps (rock salt) to the largest chamber. Rock salt statues very impressive, and the chambers also gave us some respite from the sun as temperatures in Krakow and surrounding areas were in the 30’s in late August 2019.

Good factual information on the ghetto camps and the conditions

Good factual information on the ghetto camps and the living conditions of the inmates however there was very little information on Schindler himself and how he helped the Jews. Spent 2 1/2 hours without a tour guide which was sufficient time to see everything, however there is the option to go on an organised tour, but we felt this was not necessary as all the factual information, display books, artefacts and visual aids told you what happened. Can become busy at certain times of the day due to the sheer volume of people attending. Best to pre book to avoid the long queues and disappointment of it selling out as it’s a very popular tourist attraction.

A necessary, poignant and well arranged visit.

We did this visit on our own. The "factory" was well organised and the exhibits excellent. A very poignant part of our history and in my view this is essential viewing. The additional visits to the Pharmacy under the Eagle and the Old Synagogue included in the ticket compliment the factory visit very well. Don't miss the Ghetto wall remains which are nearby. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Excellent Tour - organisation a bit chaotic

The tour itself was excellent with a extremely knowledgable guide in Joanna. Only criticism was the organisation from the pickup point and transportation was chaotic. We were dropped of at a completely different place from where we were picked up. There was also no guide on the return journey on the coach.

Amazing place ! Guided tour was infowise very good. Though

A lot of queeing and brakes which is due to the unavoidable physical circumstances and huge crouds of people. As always guides are young and "run" - they forget that they will be old some day. We were adviced before that it is cold in the mine - actually there is warm and sweaty !
