A good day out. Amazing place. Lots of steps & walking involved but other options available for different disabilities. Temperature is always constant 14-16deg controlled, but was actually more like 20deg... no jackets needed. Air quality was really good & healthy! They have free storage of items you don't want to carry around. Guide was good & entertaining, although he spoke quickly and muffled/mumbled a bit. Headphone system didn't work great... better to be close to the guide & not use. Legs ached the next day, so it was a good workout :)...
We stayed at an Airbnb and still picked up outside, on time after a text instruction. We had a small mini van which showed an informative film on the 50 min journey. Our 1st guide was extremely knowledgeable and respectful throughout the camp tour. Lunch was enjoyable before the Salt Mines. Our guide here was also knowledgeable and the tour was incredible. We were picked up at 7.30am - back at 6.30pm. Would highly recommend this tour.
I found it a very interesting, absorbing and numbing tour. The guide was clearly very well informed and gave nuances that brought a perspective that was not immediacy apparent. One is left partly numbed, yet amazed that man can do this, and a great sympathy for the people, but very aware that our experience there is as nothing for what those poor people (yes, they were people) had to endure. I always felt rushed throughout the tour.
Konrad was our guide he was very passionate about the topic. Great tour around. I chose the 6.05am tour and I’m glad I did as when we were finished it was already getting busy and people were waiting in lines. We hardly waited! This tour is a must for people at least once, to be aware and informed of what happened and so it never happens again!
Tour guide was amazing and really explained how things were and how they related to what we were seeing and hearing. Would definitely recommend using this tour. Bus was on time picking up, dropping off and driver was brilliant given the weather was terrible when we left Birkenau. Great job..
