Full description
This Auschwitz-Birkenau guided tour in English departs daily in the morning and the afternoon from 6 central meeting points in Krakow’s Old Town. The exact time and place of the departure will be provided after the booking via email. Hotel pick-ups are available only in selected areas, and if requested in advance.

Transportation to the Auschwitz Museum is arranged, depending on the option, in 8-seat minivans or 22-seat minibuses, along with your driver. After the 1.5-hour drive to the site you’ll have a short break before the tour.

The tour begins at Auschwitz, the main camp, in a group of no more than 30 visitors. You’ll be led by a professional, museum-employed guide. Receivers and earpieces are provided by the Auschwitz Museum to ensure that you’re able to hear the guide clearly.

You’ll spend around 2 hours taking in all the permanent exhibitions and buildings at the main camp, and then have a 15-minute break. Following the break there will be a short drive to Birkenau, the second part of the camp, located about 3 km from Auschwitz. The Birkenau visit lasts approximately 1 hour.

For regular guided tours, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum limits the time each group spends on the grounds to 3.5 hours including the break in between sites.

The duration may vary between 6 and 7.5 hours, including the round-trip transfers from Krakow and the guided visits. You’ll be dropped off at one of 3 central drop off points.

The guide was really good! She explained everything very clear and in an interesting way! The tour group wasn't too big. The only bad thing was the information about the lunch box. The site said we would get a lunchbox but we didn't. Overall a very good tour! I definetely recommend it!

Excellent Tour

Booked this tour through ‘Get your Guide’ booking was easy to do and communication from Get your Guide and Cracow Local Tours was excellent. We did not make the tour as we overslept! However, after speaking to Cracow Local Tours they were happy to accommodate us on a different day. The tour itself was outstanding. The tour guide ... Francesco was very knowledgeable and informative. He was also happy to answer any questions the group had. I would recommend this tour without hesitation. I would also use Cracow Local Tours.

Our guide was very informative. Auschwitz-Birkenau was a death camp. The tour was presented in a manner deservedly representing the horror, despair and brutality of the Naxi regime. It was uncomfortable. There were so many tourists and this is actually a good thing as evidently millions take the tour. The kind of place where we didn't take numerous photos but walked around, reflecting on that shocking time and the way the world seems to now becoming desensitised to people's plights. The tour organisers were very good. We initially had problems with our audio and it was quickly addressed as tour groups need to move to a tight schedule as there are so many groups. We are glad we did a tour. Highly recommended.
