Full description
On the morning of your visit, you will be picked up from your accommodation and will drive for approximately 40 minutes through scenic agricultural areas before arriving at the sanctuary. There, you will be met by your English-speaking guide and learn a little about the elephants.

After being allocated bananas and sugar cane to feed to the elephants, you will walk with your guide through the sanctuary, where you will find free-roaming elephants and hear their individual stories. You can touch, feed, photograph, and interact with the elephants at your leisure while you learn about their stories, lifestyle, and behaviors. Most of the elephants are rescued show or riding elephants, but they are now safe and well cared for at this no-riding sanctuary.

After you have met all the elephants, you will watch them enjoy their mud spa and also be able to join them. The elephants apply mud on their skin as a healthy sunscreen and mud treatment. Next, you will walk with the elephants, shower them, and join them in the water for a refreshing cool-off. Brush the elephants while they frolic and play in the water.

Once the elephants are clean, you can take some final photos with them, and then it will be time to part ways with your new friend and change into some dry clothes. Finally, you will be able to enjoy some freshly cooked Pad Thai, delicious snacks and seasonal fresh fruit. Then enjoy the impressive rural scenery as you drive back to the hotel.

Really great afternoon with these wonderful creatures. The sanctuary seems to be doing a great job. Heard the back stories - which were heartbreaking. Currently have 4 elephants, but now have enough land to take 2 more from the elephant hospital. Handlers obviously very fond of the animals. Great buffet as well. Lots of food. Pick up and drop off worked well. Transport arrived when they said it would. Take swim wear and a towel if you intend going in the mud bath with them. There are showers there to get the worst off. You are not throwing buckets of mud at this sanctuary, just rubbing mud into their skin. No riding either.

It was one of the nicest things that will ever be experienced. The project is really wonderful and should definitely be supported. The elephants were all super trusting and you could feel that they were doing well there. You could feed them, bathe and stroke them. Fortunately, the organization does not support riding or the like! If the animals don't feel like the program, then they can go. However, the elephants were very happy about the visit, after all there was plenty of food. The team was very warm and open and put a lot of effort into ensuring that animals and humans are doing well. Really recommendable, have great experiences.

It was a great experience. There are two things that could have been worked out better. 1. There were at least 3 different pick up times listed on the itinerary. This caused me to ha e to wait 45 mins in the hotel lobby. The driver then took the family that was riding with us to the exchange place which should have been asked of us since it was our time as well. 2. The itinerary stated that there would be two cooked Thai meals therefore I skipped the complimentary breakfast I get at my hotel anticipating a first and second meal. When I got there only beverages and cookies were offered and therefore I was hungry until lunch was served. It is okay if one meal is served however had I known I would have my complimentary breakfast at the hotel so I wouldn’t be so hungry. The guides were marvelous. They all were caring, inclusive and full of energy. For this reason I have already encouraged my native friends to participate in this tour!!!
