Full description
Depart Kiev and journey to Chernobyl, world-renowned as the site of the 1986 nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Benefit from flexible arrangements that allow you to stay in the exclusion zone from 1 to 5 days, either alone, with friends or with an organized guest. Save money on tours with more friends: the more you take the cheaper the cost per person.

Take the worry out of your pre-trip arrangements, with transportation, guides and permits taken care of in advance. Plunge into the story of the tragedy and its aftermath, and get information about the past, present and future plans for the site. Enter the "30-kilometer" exclusion zone and investigate how Chernobyl is still populated by local workers and policemen. See shops, a post office and café, along with sights such as the museum, St. Elias Church, the Park of Glory, river port and memorial to the liquidators who rushed to reactor number 4 immediately after the explosion.

Take photos and videos of the ghost town and look at the construction of a new confinement from the viewing platform of reactor number 4. Explore the complex engineering solutions designed to transform it into an ecologically safe system. Get the chance to chat with the plant employees.

Next, travel to the abandoned village of Kopachi, located just 4 kilometers from the accident site. A once thriving village, Kopachi suffered radiation damage during the disaster and a decision was taken to bury the entire village under layers of earth. Discover untouched monuments, such as the monument to soldiers, a kindergarten and a machine-tractor station, along with mounds marked with radiation warning signs.

Explore the “Black Pearl” of the exclusion zone as you walk the deserted streets of Pripyat. See the abandoned amusement park and its ghost-like Ferris wheel. Visit the pool of Lazurnyi, where the first victims were brought, and see other highlights of the haunting location such as the building of the executive committee, Hotel Polesie and a secondary school.

Then, journey to the Red Forest, where the full extent of the radiation was felt. Authorities took the decision to cut the forest down and, while trees have started to grow again, you will look at it from a safe distance as the radiometer shows the impact of the damage. The day has no time limits as the program will be discussed with all group members to determine the route and tailored itinerary.

Private tour of Chernobyl is so recommended! We had a group of 8 and it was perfect. The guide steered us around in a way that avoided the big tour busses as much as possible, so we mostly had the cool places to ourselves. The guide works at Chernobyl for another job so had great insights. Drawbacks: Driver: He was 10 minutes late to our pickup and managed to make two wrong turns coming back to Kiev after a really long day. Vehicle was older with a broken TV so no film; guide did a good job verbally educating but a film would have been much better. My only issue with our friendly and knowledgable guide was that he wasn't great on the pacing. Too much time with the monuments in the morning, then for the really good stuff in the afternoon we were racing around; he would give us literally 30 seconds to photograph a room and run to the next place. Hurry hurry hurry!!! Not fun, and I ended up taking lousy photos in one place because I was so rushed that I forgot to change my ISO settings.

Excellent service and very interesting.

Group 2 + Guide. Perfect size for the trip, because we could easily handle the larger groups and thus almost always were three on the way. In addition, our guide was very competent and the trip very instructive. I can recommend this tour and the related experience to everyone !!! ;)
