What people are saying about Kiev

Good tour, excellent guide. Some poor admin.

This is the high price individual tour that offers custom flexibility. The guide and driver delivered exactly that. Guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. She checked our preferences and we were able to see everything and walk a lot as we had wanted. The visit to the giant radar antenna on the way home was a bonus. But we found the booking unclear. Just one confirmatory message gave both “pick up between 06:15 and 07:45” and also “pick up at 07:45” in the same message. So we asked the local translator we were working with to call the number on the email to check. Our translator was confronted by a very hostile woman who demanded to know why we were calling and angrily referred us to the same message. Eventually we were able to find how to contact the guide who replied immediately with all the information we wanted and resolved the problem. For a deluxe tour at a high price it would have been good if a few bottles of water had been included in the vehicle.

Chernobyl and Prypiat Private Day Tour from Kiev Reviewed by Russell, 11/08/2019

Fantastic day out, well worth the money.

Well organised meeting point (easy to find and just up from the station) where you’ll be offered a personal Geiger counter (200UAH) and an optional lunch (150UAH) we passed on lunch as we predicted, correctly that it would be quite traditional Ukranian cuisine, but it that’s your thing then it’s great. Takes about two hours to get to the exclusion zone in your minibus where you are quickly processed by the police who check your passport and you are then joined by your guide who takes you to see everything that you have read about and seen. Truly amazing how close you can get to the reactor and so interesting to actually go into some of the buildings that were deserted. Lunch is in the workers canteen, if you have your own you’re welcome to sit with the others. Can’t recommend it highly enough, such a good value trip to a thankfully unique site.

Interesting but could be made way shorter

Interesting to visit this time capsule and witness the aftermath of the disaster. The tour could however be organised much better. Firstly meeting time was 7:45 in the morning and the first hour was spent waiting. Secondly a range of irrelevant “sights” were included in the trip including a USSR radar station with absolutely no relevance for a Chernobyl tour. Clearly the tour operators put in as many activities as possible in order to have a full day-programme so they can keep demanding the (outrageous) high price for the tour. The length of the programme could easily be reduced with 2-3 hours by better organisation and cutting out irrelevant visits. That being said a very interesting place that I will recommend visiting.

The most interesting place I've ever visited. Pray to all unsung heros

An amazing experience. Extremely informative, breaking some many taboos. Guide was local (from Chernobyl) and is exceptional. Cant' stop thinking about all the lives lost, but at the same time a humongous lesson for mankind. Will never, EVER, forget this experience, and doubt will ever see any other place on our beautiful Earth as interesting as Prypiat and Chernobyl. MOST DEFINITELY recommended. Organization of the tour company was not as good though. Driver and guide were amazing !

The most amazing day you'll have in Ukraine!

I've been traveling Europe for 6 weeks now and this tour was my favourite day of the entire trip. My tour guide Taras was an awesome person, super fun to be around, very chatty and very knowledgeable. He took us to all the most interesting places and even took requests on what we wanted to see (provided we were allowed to visit them). I would definitely recommend this tour to all my friends and family! - Tom from Australia
