What people are saying about Kalabaka

Great tour to a fantastic destination. Sure, the trip is a little long, but it is very much worth it. Our tour guide Lazarous gave us a lot of information on the way there, during our time at Meteora we were free to roam around at our own pace, while our guide was available for questions. We visited two monasteries, as well as a viewpoint which commanded a view of five of the six monasteries still in operation. The lunch place at Kastraki is (as others have mentioned) somewhat expensive, but you are not in any way obligated to have lunch there. You can go into town on your own, or even hike back up the road. Right behind the restaurant (marked with a sign) there is also a little trail which loops around the base of the foothills and ends where a series of caves in the rockface begin. Can recommend doing this for those who don't want to spend a whole our on lunch. We were very pleased with the punctuality and professionality of the organization. A great trip in all!

The guide and the driver were both really great : driving slower than Greek people in general while having quality informations from our guide. We were just 3 people on the tour, it was pretty safe! On the other hand, the guide was a bit fast speaking for me and the tour is quite short. We had 1 hour free time at the end of the tour ,before taking the train, but 1 hour is too much as there's no much to see in Kalabaka city.. I think it was pretty expensive because we didn't have wifi in the bus, we had to pay the train tickets (48€!) and the monasteries entrance fees (3€ each). In general, it was a nice tour to see the essential of Meteora, alongside great history infos.

Broadly speaking, our excursion to Meteora fulfilled all our expectations: the vehicle was comfortable, and we were driven safe to the listed points. At first, owing the low demand due to COVID-19, we were concerned about getting our trip called off. Instead, even counting on three passengers only, our reservation was kept and the schedule was sharply carried out. The driver (who was also our guide) was very friendly and caring. all information about Meteora and the Monasteries, provided beforehand on website, was useful and accurate. We’re happy for having taken this trip with AMMON EXPRESS. Strongly recommended!

The trip to the Meteora was very interesting. During the trip we visited two monasteries, (actually there were three, but on Friday one was closed) and we climbed the rocks from which you can see the beautiful panorama of the valley. At the end of the tour we also made a stop in the town of Kalambaka. A particular appreciation to mr. Demetrios, companion of the Ammon Express for the interesting news and the courteous and valid management of the whole trip. Dino and Paola
