Full description
As you walk, you will be immersed in the living culture of the Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok districts – two of the most densely populated spots on Earth! See daily life being lived at street level.

The walk begins at the busy and colourful Flower Market, the center of Hong Kong's wholesale and retail flower business. The area is chock-full of vendors selling all manner of flowers, potted plants, bonsais, and more. Next, take in the Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, a boisterous scene of men and their bird cages. A short walk away is the bustling and energetic Fa Yeun Street Market, selling a wide range of clothes, accessories, electrical devices, and food.

You'll then visit the Goldfish Market to see the brightly coloured tropical fish and a wide range of aquarium supplies on sale. The people of Hong Kong believe fish bring wealth, so the market is always packed and a fun place to visit. Walking further along, you'll join the throngs at the Ladies Market, where bargain clothes, bags, and trinkets are available.

Later, it's time to learn the history of the local Tin Hau temple. Amidst the burning coils of incense, learn about the Empress of Heaven, one of the most popular deities of Southern China, and patron goddess of the boat people. The temple is situated in Banyan Tree Park, where you can watch the local elders playing Chinese checkers under the shade of ancient banyan trees.

Finish your journey with a walk around the Jade Market, where around 400 stall holders sell accessories made from the revered green stone. The tour ends at Temple Street in Jordan, where the Night Market stall owners are busy setting up for the evening. From here, the guide will point you to where you need to go next.

Very informative. Loved it

We were lucky to be the only one on the market tour. Gabi was very informative, gave us a lot of insight for honk Kong. We used the local transportation with Gabi using the octopus card she brought with her. I really recommend to take this tour, it's not only markets, it's about Hong Kong.

Martin took us places most tourists miss

If you're only in Hong Kong for a few days and want to see how the real Hong Kong people live take this tour. Martin did a great job leading us on the metro to these out of the way markets. Adding in his knowledge of history it was a real "learning experience". Excellent tour.
